Sunday 18 June 2017. Overnight was hot humid and I got no sleep all night. All day loud music was blasting out from a garden across the back. It was 9 pm by the time I started walking towards the glen. I jogged the 175 steps down then did 2 laps. These included 2 x 430 steps jog to start each lap, To finish the first lap 300 and 435 steps jogging to the waterfall on the last. I ran 175 back passed the entrance footbridge. Two young girls chatting on the bench next to the car park, The young bullock charged at me again, but I was protected by the barbwire fence. I passed a woman with a well-behaved dog. All in all it was a pleasant workout. On walking home I could hear the loud music still blasting out - it was to continue to 11.30 pm and eventually gave me a sore head. When walking to and back from the local shop I stopped to chat to a few individuals and two of them referred to the loud music. That evening I watched politics on TV - all about strong leadership and blame for Grenfell T...

Sunday 11 June 2017. I left at 9.15 pm. It had been raining & was still drizzling. Walked to glen. Jogged 175 steps down to and across river and across. 2 laps 2 x 400 & 1 x 300 jogging. Finished with 400 jog to waterfall, a few stretches and 120 back. It was dark towards the end and river was in good flow. Monday 12 June 2017. I left at 9.05 pm. Walked to glen then jogged 175 down to and over river. 4 laps which included 4 x 410, 3 x 300 and 420 to waterfall. On the second lap a young bullock charged at me from the field next to the upper path. Lucky for me there was a small barb wire fence between the path and the field. Although a bucking bronco within a few feet of you can be scary. Only company tonight was a greyhound and his owner a few yards away and near the car park containing one car. I also passed two walkers with a well behaved dog. I finished by running 125 steps back from the waterfall and walking back home. The full workout took about 48 minutes. The barb ...

Week 9 - General Election Week

Sunday 4 June 2017 the day after the London Bridge attacks. 7 innocent civilians and 3 attackers dead plus 48 injured. Youngest daughter not going back to college for a couple of days, she has to go through London Bridge on her way. I went to the local shop before my workout tonight as it would be later to go for a run and hopefully I would miss the dogs. I left for the glen just before 9 pm. Walked there then jogged down the 135 steps, it was drizzling very slightly. I thought that with being a bit later and the weather not being great I'd have no problem with dogs. I completed 4 laps of 1 km. They included 4 x 380, 3 x 270 and finished with a 430 steps jogging. On my first lap a passed a young girl wearing jeans and a coat, she looked a bit lost. On each of my last two I passed a man wearing headphones accompanied by a golden labrador, the dog was very well behaved. As I finished the last lap I continued and ran a bit extra over the river, up the hill and back to the footbridge...

Sunday 28 May 2107. Today is the second part of the Skip Car Tour. Today was The Tractor's Run and if you like tractors, you'll enjoy the video (2015 version). I did watch some go past my house today. In the evening I set off again on my walk to the glen. I ran the 135 steps down the narrow path, then set off on my laps. I completed 4 laps that included 4 x 350, 3 x 240 and finished with 400 jogging steps. I also walked to the waterfall and jogged 200 steps back past the footbridge. Whilst doing my laps I could hear a woman shouting a name out continuously and loudly. I even caught a few glimpses of her. Having finished she walked past me and ask if I'd seen a 16 year old boy. It was her son. He had arrived home earlier, he was drunk and she had grounded him. However, he had escaped and she assumed he maybe in the glen as her house bordered onto it. I said I remembered seeing a person who fitted the description about 20 minutes earlier on his own in the car park, but ...
